A pulse oximeter is a device used to measure the oxygen level and pulse rate of your body. It is simple and easy to use. You just need to attach this device to your fingertip and without any pain, it will start showing you oxygen levels of your body system.
There are many apps available in the play store and apple app store that claims to measure your oxygen levels but only a few will work for you. In fact, no app can give you exact data of your oxygen levels. You need to buy a good pulse oximeter for accurate results. So most of these apps are made for entertainment purposes.
Please note:- You should know what is the normal oxygen level in the human body. Some of my readers may already know this but still, it’s my duty to clear everything to make this article more informative. The normal human being has a Blood Oxygen Saturation (SpO2) of 95% or higher than this. SpO2 less than 92% is considered as poorly saturated blood. You may feel shortness of breathing and chest pain if your oxygen level is less than 92%. Please consult a doctor if you feel any chest pain or shortness of breathing like symptoms.
So let’s start with one of the most famous oximeter apps.

This app is developed in Vietnam and is supported only in high-end Samsung devices like Samsung Galaxy Note 5,6,7,8,9 and Galaxy S6,7,8,9,10. The app developer claims of measuring the human heartbeat and Blood saturation levels with great accuracy.
However, these claims are not clinically tested. In fact, Samsung has not yet explained how their devices measures pulse rate and SpO2 levels. They also have not explained what technology did they used in their high-end devices for measuring.
However, this is an amazing app that works on an advanced algorithm to calculate Blood saturation levels. The developer claims that his app uses Samsung’s raw IR and RED signal output sensor to measure heart rate and SpO2 level.

How to use this app and how it works?
The app is simple to use once you get friendly with it. It uses your phone’s camera and a flashlight for measurement. You need to put your finger on the phone’s camera and within a few seconds, it will start showing your oxygen level.
Does this app is really helpful?
Researchers said that this app is good for entertainment purposes but not for medical purposes. The app may give you an approximate result when your oxygen level is normal but it will not give you accurate results when you are in actual need. In a clinical test, the app shows the normal oxygen level of a patient with a low oxygen level. So it is of no use.
How to Install this app?
You can install the app’s apk version from the apkpure and can directly install it from the play store. Just search the app name and click on the most appropriate result and install it.
This is for android users. If you are an iPhone user then don’t worry because we have shared the oximeter app for iOS devices also.
You can use the Masimo Personal Health app to measure your blood saturation level. The app also helps to measure pulse rate and perfusion index. The app works as same as the above app. It is also for entertainment purposes and doesn’t give accurate results.
You can also try the “Instant Heart Rate: HR Monitor” app. It is an amazing app because it is a different app and mostly gives accurate results. Users are really liking this app. The app has got 4.9 stars out of 5 in the apple app store.
The app requires iOS version 11.0 or later and is available in many different languages. It requires 230 MB of your disk space for working properly in your device.
Talking about its features then it allows its users to save their results. Enjoy the Real-time photoplethysmogram (PPG) graph and pulse rate graphs in the waveform. For its best use place your finger on the phone’s camera and let the app show your pulse rate. You can also buy its premium version and can explore many amazing new features like health fitness and workout tips.
